EARLY ARRIVAL/LATE DISMISSAL PROGRAM
The Early Arrival/Late Dismissal program (EA/LD) is designed for working parents who need to bring their children to school before regular school hours and/or pick them up after regular school hours. (Regular school hours are from 8:00AM to 3:30PM, with a 15-minute dismissal time.)
Parents who require before and/or after school care for their children on an on-going basis may enroll them as “regular participants” on a trimester basis. Before and/or after school care is also available on an “as needed” basis for parents who have short-term care needs or unexpected emergencies, which prevent them from picking up their children during regular school hours.
Thursday Late Start
The Academy will begin Late Start Thursdays for all grades (Little Acorns-8th Class) from August 17, 2023 through May 30, 2024. To accommodate the needs of working parents, Early Arrival on Thursdays will begin at 7AM and end at 8:40AM. In keeping with our current billing policy, students who arrive between 7:00-7:40AM will be enrolled in Early Arrival and will thus be billed accordingly. Students who arrive between 7:40-8:40AM will be supervised at no additional cost to their family (again, this is consistent with our current policy). Students arriving between 8:40-9:00AM will report directly to their homerooms.
On normal school days, the Early Arrival program is from 7:00 until 7:40AM. Students should be dropped off at the White Center entrance (by the flagpole).
The Late Dismissal program is from 3:45PM until 6:00PM. After 4:00PM, enter through the White Center (cafeteria) or the Lower School playground, weather permitting.
Regular Participants
To evenly distribute the cost of the EA/LD program, the actual number of days EA/LD is available during the school year has been divided into the following three “trimesters”.

School holidays and faculty in-service days have been taken into consideration in calculating the cost of the program. No adjustments will be made due to absenteeism or unscheduled school closings.
Automatic Billing: If you know your schedule will not change each trimester, you can elect for the Academy to automatically bill your EA/LD charges to your FACTS account. Please complete the online enrollment form to register for the Early Arrival/Late Dismissal program.

“As Needed” Usage
The program may be used by parents on an “as needed” basis at a rate of $11.00 per usage for Early Arrival and $18.00 per usage for Late Dismissal. (The use of both Early Arrival and Late Dismissal on the same day counts as two usages.) Usage on an “as needed” basis will be billed to your FACTS account.
After EA/LD Hours Usage
Children who are not picked up by 6:00PM will be charged $20.00 for each 15-minute period (or portion thereof) the child remains past 6:00PM. This rate is in addition to the regular trimester rate (for regular participants) or daily usage charge (for “as needed” usage).
Example A Megan is enrolled in the EA/LD program. One afternoon her mother is unavoidably and unexpectedly delayed in a business meeting. She does not pick Megan up until 6:40PM. The additional EA/LD charge will be $60 ($20 for 6:00 to 6:15, $20 for 6:15 to 6:30, and $20 for 6:30 to 6:40PM).
Example B Justin is not enrolled in the EA/LD program because his father works the 7:00 to 3:00 shift and picks him up on his way home from work. One afternoon his father is unavoidably and unexpectedly delayed because of severe traffic problems, so Justin goes to late dismissal. Traffic is delayed for hours, and Justin’s father does not pick him up until 6:30 PM. The additional EA/LD charge will be $58.00 ($18.00 for one day’s “as needed” usage, $20 for 6:00 to 6:15, and $20 for 6:15 to 6:30PM).

LITTLE ACORN & PRE-PRIMARY: STAY & PLAY PROGRAM
The Academy’s Little Acorn and Pre-Primary Stay & Play is designed for parents who need the option of an all-day program for their children. Stay & Play hours are 12 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Children may attend Stay & Play until dismissal at 3:30 p.m. at which time they will be dismissed at the Shrine dismissal site. If your child is not picked-up by 3:45 p.m., he/she will be brought to the Late Dismissal supervised area.
