Field Day

May 11, 2015

Field Day is all about doing—running, leaping, pulling, skipping, laughing and having fun! Another activity was added this year—dodging the raindrops that threatened (and finally succeeded) to put an early end to the day. But before it ended, our first Field Day with multi-age teams got off to a great start and delivered on the promise of added fun. Thanks to all for your cooperation and enthusiasm.

Pre-Primary and Primary classes are looking forward to their Field Day on Wednesday, and sunny skies are expected!

Success and Gratitude

May 7, 2015

What a fantastic Chemin de Fer auction we had, with hundreds of guests experiencing “The Splendor of India.” The beautiful garments worn by many attendees, authentic Indian dance performed during dinner, and the wondrous transformation of Rauch Memorial made it a most memorable evening. In addition, the inaugural use of BidPal made it easy to track the progression of bids on auction items, make purchases and donations, and more. Happily, all signs point to a successful Chemin de Fer outcome.

Thank you, thank you to Auction Chairs Danny and Andrea Williams and Jake and Christine Sommer, along with Honorary Chairs Jerry and Angie Stauder, to the many auction committees and volunteers who made it all come together, and to all who participated in the excitement on Saturday. Job exceedingly well done!

Amazing Generosity

April 30, 2015

shutterstock_148792892-[Converted]Dear Parents,

In two days, the fruits of much labor will come together in the unveiling of Chemin de Fer 2015! We look forward to seeing many of you at this truly remarkable event.

Today is one of those times when my heart is filled with overflowing gratitude for your amazing generosity! Academy parents participate and partner in Sacred Heart education in many generous ways. During these past few weeks I have seen many of you on campus helping as field trip chaperones, service trip chaperones, and Chemin de Fer volunteers. Each time I see one of you doing something for the auction, my heart expands. Please know that we could NOT provide this education without the help provided through our fundraising events! THANK YOU!

With Deep and Prayerful Gratitude,

Maureen Glavin, rscj

History Comes to Life

The Third Class presented its annual Wax Museum of famous Americans for parents in Cribbin Hall on Monday. Each student dressed as and described the notable accomplishments of the person he or she studied. Research, memorization, and presentation skills were among the valuable lessons learned. Great job, Third Class!
