Take a new Ford for a spin and help us earn up to $8,000! Take a test drive at ASH between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 11, and the Academy will receive a donation from Ford as part of their Drive 4UR School program. If we have 300 test drives of one of the two cars, Ford will donate $6,000 to the Academy! If 200 of those 300 test drivers test drive a second vehicle, Ford will donate an additional $2,000! [A unique mailing address and email address is required for each test driver.] Feel free to invite grandparents, aunts, uncles, neighbors or cousins who might be available on that day.

Our thanks to Pundmann Ford for partnering with us. Please direct questions to Mary Maher, Development Director, at mmaher@ash1818.org or 636-946-6127, ext. 1601.

October is one of two months when we consciously and more overtly honor Mary, the mother of Jesus. At every Sacred Heart school throughout the world, we have a special name, representation and celebration of Mary. We know her, represent her and celebrate her under the title of Mater Admirabilis.

Country Fair 2016

October 19, 2016

From all the fun of the chili cook-off and washers tournament on Saturday, to the fun run, petting zoo, pancake breakfast, giant inflatables and everything else on Sunday—this year’s Country Fair was a fantastic weekend! Thanks to all who came out to the Fair, guests and volunteers alike. What a fun and easy way to support Goal IV of Sacred Heart education: the Building of Community. Special thanks to Country Fair Chairs Matt and Jackie Johannesman and Co-Chairs Mike and Bridget Maroney for leading the way.

Meeting a Famous Missourian

October 6, 2016

Fourth Class student Suhani researched Mary Engelbreit as her Famous Missourian, so when the best-selling author and illustrator visited the St. Charles County library at Spencer Creek recently, Suhani’s mother took her to meet her. After presenting and answering questions, Mary signed books and calendars, including her newest work, A Night of Great Joy. Mrs. Reepmeyer—Suhani’s teacher and a longtime Mary Engelbreit fan herself—helped Suhani explain how the class had studied famous Missourians. Together they showed Mary the picture of Suhani standing next to her poster. Mary was humbled and said to Suhani, “Thanks for choosing me!” Mrs. Reepmeyer added, “It’s not every day that you get to meet your Famous Missourian in person!”

ASH Hall of Famous Missourians

September 30, 2016

Each year our Fourth Class students create life-sized posters of people who were born in, or had an impact in, Missouri. Great job, once again, Fourth Class, on this imaginative assignment!

I’d like to share a story that filled me with pride. I hope it fills you with pride that your child is a member of this Sacred Heart school!

Last week our Seventh Class students attended their annual two-day trip to Camp Lakewood. At Lakewood the students engage in activities that develop what are referred to as the soft skills: self-awareness, resiliency, persistence, listening and team building. It is an opportunity not only for personal growth but for class community building.
