Our Fourth Class recently learned first-hand how the American election process works. Late last week, each student nominated a candidate for president from novels that he or she had already read this year. They each created a “Candidate Fact Sheet” explaining why their candidate should be chosen for president. The class narrowed it down to the top three candidates: Meriwether Lewis, Sacagawea and Seaman.
NEW! There’ll be a food truck on site for the Taste of Christmas Boutique. Cruzin Fusion Food Truck will on on hand with delicious eats to satisfy any hunger! Their style is Asian Fusion and they will be serving dishes such as teriyaki chicken, deconstructed tuna, and three different tacos including spicy lobster. Look for them on the Clark Street side of campus, next to the loading dock. Then for dessert, head over to the cookie table for some of the Academy parents’ freshly baked cookies!

Sister Margaret Munch, whose birthday is on St. Philippine Duchesne’s Feast Day, is known for her knowledge of the saint who founded our school. She will share much of it on Friday, Nov. 4, during a tour of Old St. Ferdinand in Florissant. It’s the first presentation in the 2016–2017 Philippine Duchesne Bicentennial Speakers Series sponsored by Villa Duchesne and Oak Hill School’s Mums of Alums. Take a new Ford for a spin and help us earn up to $8,000! Take a test drive at ASH between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 11, and the Academy will receive a donation from Ford as part of their Drive 4UR School program. If we have 300 test drives of one of the two cars, Ford will donate $6,000 to the Academy! If 200 of those 300 test drivers test drive a second vehicle, Ford will donate an additional $2,000! [A unique mailing address and email address is required for each test driver.] Feel free to invite grandparents, aunts, uncles, neighbors or cousins who might be available on that day.
