Catholic Scouting Award

March 22, 2012

Congratulations to Sister Glavin for receiving Catholic Scouting’s Bronze Pelican Award. Each year, Catholic Cub Scout Packs and Boy Scout Troops throughout the Archdiocese of St. Louis nominate those they feel have had a significant positive impact on Catholic Scouting for this award, which recognizes outstanding contribution to the spiritual development of Catholic youth in the Boy Scouts of America. Leaders of Cub Scout Pack 351 and Boy Scout Troop 351 nominated Sister Glavin for the award, and the Archdiocesan Catholic Committee on Scouting approved it.

During the presentation following First Friday liturgy, Sister Glavin was recognized for many years of service and support to Scouting. The citation read, in part: “She has consistently gone above and beyond the call of duty in providing logistical support to Pack 351 and Troop 351, as well as to the Boone Trails District of the Greater St. Louis Area Council. In addition, she continues to be a part of the ongoing formation of many young people, including our Scouts.”
