The Academy was thrilled to receive a $10,000 grant from Gateway To Innovation (G2I) as part of their community giveback program. Their yearly conference for technology professionals returns proceeds to the worthy causes that advance the future of technology. This year, G2I awarded $300,000 to St. Louis area organizations and we are grateful to be among the award recipients once again.
The grant was submitted by Lower School science teacher Mrs. Cortney Pearce, working with Director of Advancement Mrs. Cindy Johnson. Mr. Horner, along with Mrs. Sarah Wehde, Director of Strategic Advancement Initiatives, attended the presentation.
“We are honored to receive such a generous award from Gateway to Innovation,” says Mr. Horner. “The grant will fund the purchase of the FOSS Science Curriculum for Lower School students. Thank you to the Gateway to Innovation Conference for supporting our students’ learning!”
“As a teacher, I am genuinely excited about adopting the new FOSS Pathways science curriculum for our Primary through Second Class students,” shares Mrs. Pearce. “This program offers hands-on, inquiry-based learning experiences that invite children to explore the world around them with curiosity and confidence. I love that it encourages active discovery, giving students the chance to ask questions, test their ideas, and truly think like young scientists. The lessons are thoughtfully designed to build a strong foundation in scientific practices. Most of all, I’m excited to see the spark in their eyes as they engage with meaningful, real-world investigations that nurture both their understanding and their love of learning.”
