This week, the Academy was pleased to host the Visiting Team from the Independent Schools Association of the Central States (ISACS). The group was comprised of six representatives from schools in our region, including the Chicago area, Indianapolis, and Cleveland.

The visit began Sunday afternoon with student-led tours, followed by a welcome reception with faculty and staff. Monday and Tuesday were packed, as the team met one-on-one with each adult member in the community, chatted with students and observed daily life at the Academy.

In a final meeting on Wednesday, Bill Myers, who led the Visiting Team, commented on our warm, welcoming, and joyful community. He also presented commendations and recommendations that will be shared in the formal report. Before departing he wrote:

It was truly a privilege to serve as the leader of the ISACS Accreditation Team during our recent visit to the Academy of the Sacred Heart. On behalf of the entire team, I want to express our sincere gratitude for the warmth, hospitality, and openness extended to us throughout our time on campus.

We experienced a community deeply grounded in its Sacred Heart mission and animated by joy, faith, and purpose. In classrooms, meetings, and informal conversations, we encountered students who are confident and engaged, faculty and staff who are dedicated and mission-driven, and families and trustees who care deeply about the future of the school.

The visit was very positive and affirming. Most importantly, we witnessed a special community that understands who it is and why it exists. The Academy of the Sacred Heart is a true gift to St. Charles and to the wider world, forming young people of intellect, compassion, and courage.

Thank you for allowing us to partner with you in this important moment of reflection and growth.

We are deeply grateful to the Steering Committee who led our community through our first ISACS accreditation: Robynn Horner, chair, Mary Reepmeyer, Michael Taylor, and Tim Horner!
