What a wonderful event we shared on Saturday evening. A huge debt of gratitude is extended to Chemin de Fer Chairs Heather and Jeff Locker and Co-Chairs Kim and Steve Willbrand for all the thought, effort, time, treasure and talent that they shared in support of this major fundraiser. I am so very appreciative of all those who chaired the committees and worked on everything from decorations to packaging silent auction items. The event would never have been the success it was without the help and support of many in our parent community, as well as Academy staff members: Anna Godfrey ’07, Special Events Coordinator, Mary Maher, Development Director and Lindsay McCullough, Director of Marketing & Communications. Thank you all so very much!
On Wednesday of this week we celebrated Field Day with our youngest runners, jumpers and Big Wheel Mario Andretti style drivers! Thank you to all who came out to celebrate with our Little Acorns, Pre-Primary and Primary students. As I said at the awards ceremony, there is nothing better in the world than to have those you love the most in the world cheering you on. Thank you for being present and for sharing in the joy of your children.
Tomorrow we will do it all again—but on a much bigger scale as we host Field Day for the First through Eighth Classes. The weather looks as though it will hold out and that we are in store for a cool dry day. Field Day begins at 9:45 a.m. with Mass in Rauch Memorial gymnasium. My thanks go out to the Fathers’ Club who will be cooking up a storm on the beautiful new grill they gifted the Academy. Please plan to join the fun in the White Center at lunch. At the conclusion of the day we will gather again in the gym for an awards ceremony. This year we will be recognizing not only the blue ribbon winners but also all students who participated in an Academy team during the school year. As in the past, we will also recognize Faculty earning Network of Sacred Heart Schools Years of Service Awards. Please make a plan to stay for this special closing assembly.
See you tomorrow!
