Introducing the Academy Saints Logo!

On Election Day in November 2018, Academy students, faculty and staff had the opportunity to vote on a new school mascot for our athletic program. After counting the ballots, it was determined that the Saints won—making our new school mascot the Academy of the Sacred Heart Saints!  

Moving into the 2019-2020 school year, it was determined that the Academy was in need of a new mascot logo to identify us as the Saints. The mascot logo design was created very strategically, taking into account our school’s heritage and goals every step of the way. We are delighted to share with you the new mascot logo design, complete with an explanation of all its elements.

Explanation of Mascot Logo:

Red Color

Represents the Sacred Heart of Jesus.

The Shield

Represents guarding one’s self against the day-to-day experiences and challenges that conflict with living out Gospel values.

The 5 Diagonal Bands

Represent the five Goals of Sacred Heart Education instilled at the Academy of the Sacred Heart.

1818

The year the Academy was founded and is included as a tribute to its long heritage and importance being the first free school west of the Mississippi River.

The Fleur de Lis

Pays tribute to the Society of the Sacred Heart’s origins in the country of France.

The Saints Name

Ultimately, the goal of Sacred Heart Education is to ready students for heaven where they will join the communion of Saints.
