The Academy of the Sacred Heart has been awarded full membership in the Independent Schools Association of the Central States (ISACS). This designation differentiates our school as the only ISACS school in St. Charles, and places us in good company with 28 outstanding independent schools in the metro area.
ISACS is recognized for having the premier accreditation process and standards. As ISACS noted, the Academy “has conducted a comprehensive and thorough self-study in which all aspects of the school’s program and practice have been disclosed and reviewed…has been visited by a team consisting of ISACS peer teachers and administrators for the purpose of observing congruence between mission and program.”
This process, visit, and review help ensure a standard of educational quality verified by independent, third-party educators and evaluating organization as membership is granted. Moving forward, our membership in ISACS will require annual review of our programs and create opportunities for a cycle of ongoing analysis and continuous improvement.
Mr. Timothy Horner, Head of School, shared this news with students, faculty, staff, and visitors following May Crowning liturgy. “Some of our students were involved in this process as tour guides and as members of student committees. Faculty worked very hard throughout this process. What this full membership means is that educators from other communities have looked closely at our school and affirmed our very high standards. That is a compliment to each person in our school and important for the Academy going forward.”
