Celebration and Reenactment of Philippine’s Arrival on St. Charles Riverfront

**Please note the location change of the Reenactment below due to the weather forecast predicting heavy rainfall this Friday, Sept. 7.

Join us for a Bicentennial reenactment of St. Rose Philippine Duchesne’s arrival on the St. Charles riverfront, celebrating 200 years of education!

When St. Philippine and her four companions opened the Academy of the Sacred Heart in September 1818, it signaled the start of Sacred Heart education in the New World, Catholic education in the Archdiocese of St. Louis, and formalized education of any kind in the St. Charles/St. Louis area. More than 2,000 students in the area will join local and state officials to celebrate this special anniversary event!
