The Academy of the Sacred Heart offers a half-day program for four-year olds called Pre-Primary. During this first year at the Academy, each child begins to develop skills and relationships. Children develop their capabilities with confidence in an enriching environment that cultivates emotional and social growth as well as learning readiness. Individual, small group and whole group activities are designed for maximum learning in a loving atmosphere.
The half-day program for four-year-olds emphasizes pre-reading and pre-math readiness skills designed to ease the child into the more accelerated curriculum of the Primary (kindergarten) Class. The main objective of the Pre-Primary year is to foster a basic knowledge of God, a positive self-image and a love of learning. Creative play, a variety of learning centers, music and art are used to engage the child in self-discovery and interaction with others.
