Twenty
Things Alumni can do for their Alma Mater
Have you ever wondered how you
can help the Academy? Let us count the ways...
1)
Read the mailings that come from ASH and be familiar with
the school today.
2)
Encourage your neighbors’ and friends’ children to
consider applying for admission to the Academy.
3)
Check the Alumni section on the Academy’s web site to keep
informed about alumni activities at Sacred Heart.
4)
Join the ACC (Alumni Coordinating Council), which meets
three or four times a year and organizes all Alumni Association
activities.
5)
Work in an Alumni Booth at Country Fair.
6)
Take chances on the Country Fair Alumni Quilt and/or
purchase a Barbecue Booth Sponsorship.
7)
Inform the Alumni Office of any updates in your name,
address, phone number or email address.
8)
Inform the Alumni Office if you hear of any updates of your
classmates’ information.
9)
Volunteer to help stuff Alumni Mailings.
10)
Volunteer to
“Adopt an Eighth Grader.”
11)
Volunteer to be
a Docent in the Shrine of St. Philippine Duchesne.
12)
Attend the
Alumni Day of Recollection during Lent.
13)
Make an annual
gift to the Alumni Project or Endowment Fund.
14)
Volunteer to
speak to students about your service activities in the community.
(Alums do this with the Seventh Class.)
15)
Volunteer
to make calls during the Alumni Phonathon in February.
16)
Participate
in surveys for the Sacred Heart Commission on Goals Self Study, which will
be conducted in the upcoming two school years.
17)
Donate ASH
memorabilia that you no longer wish to keep to our Archives.
18)
Work at
Chemin de Fer (first Saturday in May) or come to the event as a guest.
19)
Help plan
reunions for your class in appropriate years.
20)
Attend the
Congé Reunion in June (even if yours is not a “special” year).
